What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.

Great blog Nancy, I couldn't agree more! One of my best "frugal" finds was the winter jacket that I purchased at the Goodwill in North Olmsted last fall. It was a "green tag" item so it was 50% off that day. It was originally $15.00 marked down to $7.50. I received so many compliments on that jacket! Ten years ago I probably would have a said a polite thank you and left it at that. Nowadays, I find myself more than happy to tell people where I got it and how much it cost. My how times have changed...in a good way!

I am an admitted shopaholic. However, over the past couple of years I have slowly been "recovering". Minimalism and frugality are looking rather appealing. Not just for my pocketbook, for my overall sense of well being. Clutter unnerves me. Stuff distracts me. Living paycheck to paycheck worries me. I have begun to empty my house of the stuff and clutter. I give some of it away on Freecycle, I sell some of it on Ebay and what I cannot give away, recycle, Freecycle or sell, gets thrown away. It feels great.

I still love the thrill of the hunt, and getting a good deal, but now I ask myself: do I really NEED this and why exactly do I want it? I think most of could stand to learn that when it comes to stuff, less is more, and that financial security is priceless.

Loved this I agree with you completely ... I agree that going against the crowd is tough sometimes. It's amazing to me how much that is commonly believed to be true, simply is not true.

I don't think much of money--in general, I think it makes people more unhappy. However, the one thing money can buy (that I also want) is freedom.
